Congratulations to our newest Junior Black Belts

I just wanted to take a moment to say congratulations to our two newest Junior Black Belts, Cian and Aneesh!  They worked very hard and seemed pretty exhausted at the end, but now they are able to start a new chapter in their Black Belt journey.  Congratulations!

Quick Update

Just a quick update on a few items.  First, I hope everyone is enjoying their back to school days.  I know some parents are!

First order of business:  Standard uniforms.  We will return to standard uniforms (uniform top) in the next couple of weeks.  I will post here and also send out an email a week or so before. Until then, enjoy the warm weather while we have it because winter will be upon us before we know it!

I have two rank tests scheduled for this month.  This is the reason we have not been sparring.  Once those are done, look for a return to sparring week.  We will once again start sparring the week of September 22 (which is a Monday).

Finally, my web page and facebook page are sorely lacking in photographs.  If anyone has any pictures they would like to share, please feel free to forward them to me.  They can be of rank tests, tournaments, normal class, or anything else people would like to share.  The studio pages are as much the student' as well as my own.

Holiday Closure

The studio will be closed for Labor Day.  Classes will be held on the preceding Saturday, however there will be no classes on Monday.  I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable weekend!

School is nearly here!

It's almost time to go back to school.  Along with that, usually comes a change in uniforms.  I have not yet decided on the date to change back to standard uniforms.  I am going to wait and see what the weather has in store for us.  If it is warm we will likely remain in T-shirts for a while.

Please remember that along with school comes the appearance of children on the roads as they make their way to and from their bus stops or homes.  Please drive with caution and be aware when approaching bus stops.  Despite what we try to teach them, children can often dart out into the road without thinking.

Enjoy these last few days of summer kids, I know some of your parents are doing the happy dance now that school is right around the corner!  :-)

No sparring this month (July 2014)

Since I have several students who are preparing for their junior black belt test, I have decided to cancel sparring this month.  Sparring month will resume next month during the third week of the month.

Summer Uniform Policy

As most of you already know, we have changed over to summer uniforms.  Please note the summer uniform policy below.  We will stay in summer uniforms roughly until the start of the school year.  I will set an actual date as the time approaches.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Summer uniforms consist of uniform pants, and a Soaring Crane t-shirt, and of course their belt. 

• If you do not have an SCS t-shirt, the student may wear a plain white t-shirt.
• The shirt may not have any wording, designs or logos of any kind on it, unless previously approved by me.
• If you do not have either an SCS shirt or a plain white T-shirt, the student will be expected to wear their full uniform.
• Soaring Crane T-Shirts are available for sale and are hanging on the rack in the waiting area.  All T-shirts are $18.99 plus tax, unless otherwise noted.

****Please note, that if you do not have the proper approved uniform for summer uniforms, the student will not be allowed to participate in class.  It is not fair to others if we do not hold all students to the same standards.  Thank you for your understanding in this matter.****
